Located on approximately 38 acres, Thunder Hill Raceway has spacious parking areas as well as extensive space for hospitality and vendor tents. The Grand National series now runs on tracks ranging from three-eighths mile "bullrings" to the two-mile "superspeedways”, giving both drivers and fans a chance to experience every kind of track. Thunder Hill is a three-eighths mile, D-shaped track with a curved front straight (much like the larger tracks at Texas Motor Speedway and Daytona International Speedway). As such, it offers short-track drivers yet another different kind of track. Driving Directions to Thunder Hill Raceway - From Austin take the southbound IH35 to Exit 210 (Yarrington Road exit) and drive north on the east service road (access road) to Thunder Hill Raceway. BE ALERT this is a two-way service road! Thunder Hill Raceway is just a 5-minute drive north of San Marcos, a 20-minute drive north of New Braunfels, a 45-minute drive north of San Antonio, and a 20-minute drive south of Austin. |
